Life As I Know It.......

Life is crazy as it is far away from home and was loving it all until that call came in that day. She was in the hospital and everybody else was sick high fever, sore throat, and upset stomach. Things were looking good for my family new thing came about and we were just going back to having our normal lives again. Since normal is something that my family is not that was a great thing.
My grandmother was the head of the family she kept everything together from the schedules to who had what chore to do that night. My grandmother was on top of everything and no one was to even question her at all. This was a known factor that many people ever crossed. Even though she had a stroke in the wee hours of the morning she knew that she had to hold on because of the high place she holds in the family. She held on because she knew herself that we wouldn't be able to make it through life without her.
My grandmother is key to a lot of things that would not run smoothly without her. She raised me from a child to the women that I am today. As I continue to learn from her I will be able to raise my children as she once raised me. With a good Christian upbringing and somethings that would make a mans family proud to have and to welcome me with open arms and warm hearts. These things that my grandmother has instilled in me are here because that is who I am on the inside and out. They help me pass by the little things and come up above the things that people behind me and in front of me cannot handle. It allows me the strength to hold on and continue so that I can become better than the next person no matter what has happened within the past 18 years of my life. My family gives me the help that I need to push on and to be strong for the ones that are coming behind me and for those that have passed before me.

Tale of Two Lives

Once upon a time there lived a woman by the name of Marchelle Simmons. She was a parole officer by day and a mother by night. Now Marchelle had seven kids five boys and two girls who were all spread throughout the age line. Marchelle was taught that kids would be kids no matter how old they were and she respected that. Marchelle had a middle son by the name of Davion Simmons who adored a girl by the name of Devona Sanders. The only thing was that they were from two different places and it would be difficult to bring their families together. Even though she knew of Devona she never once said a word of it to her son. Marchelle waited until he came to her to ask for advice that would somehow give himself away.
Now Devona on the other hand had it even worse because her father was a very overprotective person but her mother was calm and caring. Devona knew that she would have to eventually tell her parents about the guy that she was in a relationship with and she knew  that this would not be such an easy task. Davion had offered to go with her but Devona had declined all of his offers. Devona had thought since she had always been "Daddy's Little Girl" that her father would be understanding of the situation at hand.On the other hand Davion had told his family and they were ready to meet the girl that he had been spending all of his time with. While Davion's family was open to the idea that he had found love; Devona's father was not at  all that happy about the idea of a hoodlum dating his daughter.
Devona went one day after school to meet Davion's family and they welcomed her with open arms. Devona also had to tell Davion that her parents did not want her to see him any more. Davion was willing to go to her father and ask could he date Devona after her father had told her no and to not see him anymore. So Devona delayed this until there was no other way but to go to her father and tell him but this time she would not do it alone. Davion was to come around nine o'clock to ask her father this time. Devona also wanted her parents to see how happy she was with her new found love. Devona knew that once her parents saw her happy that they would not tell her that she had to end the relationship. Devona knew that they would accept him  and not give him a hard time when Devona was not around.
Devona's parents talked to Davion for hours and then they asked Devona to leave the room. She was scared of what they might say to him but all she could do now was pray. After another hour had passed her father came to her in the living room and gave her his blessing. Davion had not only asked to date his daughter but to marry her in three months. All Devona could do at that moment and time was cry because she knew that it was his plan in the beginning to be her knight in shining armor. Davion had not only been a best friend to her during the time of her talking to her parents her had also kept his role as her boyfriend and maintained to honor whatever had been said in that room for that hour. That is something till this day that Davion will never tell her; he just says go and ask your parents. Before  I can do that he says if they wanted you to know they would have not asked you to leave the room.

The one thing that I cannot stand about is my height. There are times where I wish that I can my height because I am the tallest girl. There are times where my height comes on handy such as to reach something that is high on a shelf. Another thing that is that i was usually taller than the other kids when I was younger which was not the best thing. I have gotten use to my height but if I had a choice I would be a whole foot or inch shorter.

A Dinner to Dream About.................

If I could have dinner with any three people i would have to say my grandfather and my great grandparents who are deceased. I would chose them because I would want to really let them know how the teachings that they instilled in me years ago are still there. I would also want the to hear all the great stories that I have about Ayriel because they never got the chance to meet her. I would also tell them of my many great accomplishments and the college decisions that i have decided to make to become a better person. I would also show them pictures of how everybody has grown and made different choices than the ones that were planned. These are the people who help my grandparents raise me so in my eyes they are very important because of their roles in my life. So this would be a thank you to all of them.

My House and Neighborhood

My house has been crazy for the past couple of weeks. My liitle sister the twin has been coming over every weekend for the past three weeks. My grandparents haver been out to woodhaven for the past four weekends to get some peace and quiet. My sister Nisha works from 12:30 to 9:00 everyday. So when I get home I have to do my homework, clean, and take a nap before I or someone else goes to pick Ayriel up from school. My niece and her mother are usualyy gone somwhere until like 5 0r 6. But since my sister is now in school her and my niece take trips to the Lombard library. When my grandparents are in town my grandfather is always running doing for everybody and some times he does not get time to rest. My grandmother on the other hand is always running with me, Niya, and Ayriel because she wants to spend time with each of us personally. The lights in my house are very bright during all times of the day no matter where you are or what you are doing. The noises of the different televisions fill the air as well as the screams of all the children along with the pitty patter fo their feet as the walk and run the hall and stairs. My neighbirhood has come through many changes and all of them are good. Even thought we have many abandoned houses on my block it has come up from a neighborhood full of drug dealing to a neighborhood full of change. The adults have pushed for this so that all of the children would not have to see crackhead, and young black man making drug sells to the majority. The death toll in my neighbrhood raises and drops just as the clock ticks. All of the changes have actually made my neighborhood better than it was before. There are still drug dealers but there are very few of them because they are changing what they do so that they will have a fututre. I enjoy all of the change that happens in my neighborhood because I know that the changes that are happening are happening for the better. No I do not wish that it was different because my neighborhood made me the way that I am today.

My Fear

My biggest fear is spiders. Even though they are uncappable of bodily harm unless they are posinous spiders. They not only scare me because of all the legs that they have but because of the way that they look. If anybody was to chase me with a spider any time soon i would just lay down and die. I am really passionate about not liking spider's because it not the only insect that scares me. I'm afraid of anything that flies and has legs or wings besides brids, cats, and dogs.

My Perfect Summer

My summer was great. There was nothing this summer that I did not complete.I went everywhere from Jamaica and the Bahamas, from Peru to Brazil. This was the best summer I have had in years because of my job loss. I have found another job traveling the world and having fun. While this summer I went to three different countries; two different islands it has been the most fun I have had all my life.
My life countiues as I plan my perfect winter wedding to my most wonderful husband Davion Simmons. He proposed to me over the summer making this our third year together and he finally proposed to me a girl who thought that she would never get married to someone as good as him. As my single and relationship life comes to an end my married life begins. My life as a wife, a bestfriend, a soulmate, and a mother to top it all off. This is my best summer ever because my fiance wants to do things the Godly way. This is truly my perfect summer and now that I'm a married woman i have more perfect summers to come.
